United Nations General Assembly (UNGA)
The United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) has taken significant steps to address global health challenges. During its 78th session in September 2023, the UNGA convened three High-Level Meetings on health in New York. These meetings provided a historic opportunity for world leaders to prioritize health on the high-level political agenda and take decisive actions.

Here are the key focus areas of these meetings:

-
Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness, and Response (PPPR):
-
This meeting aimed to mobilize political momentum and integrate a multisectoral approach toward pandemic prevention, preparedness, and response. Given the multifaceted consequences of pandemics, it emphasized the need for coordinated efforts.
-
-
Universal Health Coverage (UHC):
-
The UHC meeting provided an opportunity for countries and stakeholders to renew efforts and accelerate progress toward achieving health for all. It served as the foundation for executing policies and strengthening health systems for the future.
-
-
Fight Against Tuberculosis (TB):
-
TB remains a global health challenge, and this meeting aimed to recommit to ending it. Upholding the human right to health and building equitable health systems were essential components of this effort.
-

These meetings were crucial as the world recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic and faced multiple humanitarian and climate crises. Prioritizing health goals is essential to achieve sustainable development and ensure the well-being of people worldwide
