The Global Health Academy at Nuvance Health is honored to announce the Majid Sadigh, MD Annual Scholarship Award, a distinguished initiative that celebrates and supports the leadership of women faculty who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to advancing health equity, social justice, and the well-being of underserved and marginalized populations.
This scholarship is primarily a tribute and recognition of women leaders whose past accomplishments reflect a sustained commitment to the core values of global health.
We invite applications from female faculty members from our global health partner sites who have shown a proven track record of impact through service, education, research, or advocacy.
About the Scholarship
The selected recipient will be awarded up to $10,000 over the course of the academic year to lead an innovative, well-designed initiative that addresses unmet needs and improves access to essential health services. Projects may focus on community service, research, or advocacy efforts.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
• Be a female faculty member affiliated with an international (non-US) academic institution partnered with the Nuvance Health Global Health Academy.
• Demonstrate a strong record of service advancing health equity and social justice.
• Present a project with clear objectives, a defined one-year plan of work, and anticipated impact at both individual and public health levels.
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit the following materials:

A motivation letter (1–2 pages), describing their background, commitment to health equity, previous accomplishments, and the personal and professional significance of this scholarship opportunity. The motivation letter is an opportunity for the applicant to:

Express their personal commitment to global health, equity, and social justice​

Curriculum Vitae

A project proposal (maximum 3 pages), including:

Objectives, methods, timeline, and budget

Explanation of how the project builds on the applicant’s prior work

Anticipated outcomes and impact

Up to 10 citations may be included.

Three letters of reference from senior faculty at the applicant’s home institution.
Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed and evaluated by a committee of peers and experts. Selection will be based on merit, feasibility, and alignment with the mission of the Global Health Academy.
