Empowering Future Leaders: A Reflection on the Third Annual Elvis A. Novas Youth Academy Program

The Elvis A. Novas Youth Academy for Leaders completed its third year in July 2025. Over two weeks, three cohorts of local students engaged in lectures and interactive workshops held at the Global Health Academy. This year’s classes focused on leadership skills, financial literacy, health awareness, and more, providing the students with invaluable skills for their futures.

The success of the Youth Academy is attributed to the collaboration of Danbury's Dominican Community Center, The Global Health Academy, volunteers, educators, and health professionals, who worked together to develop an impactful curriculum. The program culminated in a closing ceremony that celebrated student achievements and emphasized the importance of lifelong learning. Looking ahead, the Global Health Academy is dedicated to evolving with the Youth Academy to meet the needs of future generations, ensuring that local youth are well-equipped to navigate an increasingly complex world.
